YEAR ONE

I can't believe Jamie and I are celebrating our one year anniversary today! Time has definitely flown by so quick, but what an amazing and exciting year it's been together.

Today, we celebrated by doing something casual and low key... Bowling and pizza! We invited all my family to come along, as let's face it... Bowling is more fun when there's a bigger group and more competition!😜 Plus, I am very lucky as Jamie gets along really well with all of my family and has a great relationship with them all.

We had such a great day and I feel so lucky to have such a lovely, caring boyfriend, and an amazing family to share the special occasion with!

Hopefully we will be celebrating many more anniversaries together in the years to come ❤️

Hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable  Saturday

EDINBURGH

Some of you may have seen in one of my earlier posts, that for my boyfriend Jamie's birthday, I booked a trip to Edinburgh for New Year! Thankfully, he loved the present and the idea of spending New Year's Eve in Edinburgh just as much as me! And, we had a great time.

We arrived on the 30th and checked in to our amazing hotel. The Waldorf Astoria Caledonian, a five star hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. I really have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. Located on Princes Street, it is so central and close to everything. From the moment we checked in, this hotel did not disappoint. Our room was lovely with a big, comfortable bed and a spacious shower and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

On New Years Eve, we had a lovely meal in the city centre before we headed to Princes Street for the Hogmanay Street Party and midnight fireworks. We had such a great time and the atmosphere at the street party was amazing. If anyone is thinking of heading to Edinburgh for New Years Eve in the future, the street party is a must! Even though that was my first time, I already know I will go back in the future. Edinburgh is such a beautiful city, and even more so at New Year!

I'm a little sad that 2014 came and went so fast. But nevertheless, I am thankful for all the happy memories and moments that I had and I can't wait to see what 2015 brings.

Hope you all had an amazing end to 2014 and a great beginning to 2015.

POST-CHRISTMAS

Wow. I truly can't believe that December has passed so quick. Already Christmas time has come and gone.

December has been an insanely busy month for me. My boyfriends birthday, my birthday, exams, end of year assignments! It was certainly crazy but finally, after handing in my final 5,000 word essay, I was able to relax and enjoy a lovely family Christmas- which was pure bliss.

We had a smaller, quieter Christmas this year with just my mum, dad, sister and auntie, which was nice. As usual, my mum out-did herself and cooked a gorgeous Christmas Day meal. And like always, Santa brought lots of goodies.

This year I got the perfect Michael Kors bag and wallet, and was spoilt with my fave Jo Malone products. I feel very lucky and grateful to have such thoughtful and caring family members!

Even though Christmas had passed, the  busy schedule continues! In just a few days, I will be travelling to Edinburgh to toast 2015 with my lovely boyfriend Jamie. Scary to think 2014 is nearly over, and a new year will soon be upon us.

I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas with friends, family and all of your loved ones!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMIE

Today is my boyfriends 21st birthday so I want to start by saying a huge happy birthday to him and wishing him the best day ever!

Despite living in different cities, we aim to see each other as much as possible. So I was always going to try my best to be there for him on his special day, no matter how busy I was!

As this was the first present I have ever bought Jamie (and it was his 21st birthday), I found it really difficult trying to decide what to get him. Of course I know what he likes and what he doesn't, but I wanted to get the perfect present. Me being me, I thought/panicked about this months ahead of time! I like being organised, what can I say! 😜 I  wanted to get him something that was meaningful and special, and something he would always remember.

In the end, I planned a trip to Edinburgh.  Edinburgh is such a special place for us both, as it's the place we first met. During our first time together, we came across The Caledonian, an amazing 5 star hotel which looked so luxurious and sophisticated. Everytime we passed it, we joked that we'd stay there next time. So, for Jamie's birthday, I decided to book to stay there for 3 nights.

Because December is such a busy time for us both, with birthdays, uni exams, Christmas etc, it was hard to set aside three days where we'd be able to really enjoy ourselves and celebrate properly without rushing home for some sort of event or other occassion. In the end, I decided to book it for New Years Eve. This way, we could celebrate Jamie's 21st birthday and New Years Eve, together in a beautiful and special city. We will go to the NYE street parade and hopefully have a lovely dinner somewhere in the city. I really can't wait. Although I didn't get Jamie a gift he could physically open, I'm hoping he enjoys our trip and that the moments and memories we share, will forever remind him of his 21st birthday.

Fingers crossed he loves his present!

Right now, we are off to celebrate and enjoy the special day!

Enjoy your day!

MUMS BIRTHDAY

Today is my mum's birthday so it's a day full of celebrations and knowing her, a whole lotta champagne!

I am so thankful for everything my mum does for me and sometimes I forget just how lucky I am to have such an amazing mum, confidant and best friend. So today is the day to spoil her and make sure she has a lovely day!

Tonight we headed to The Marcliffe for a special meal. The Marcliffe is my mums all time favourite restaurant (and mine too!) so it was only fitting that we celebrate there. I had a gorgeous steak and chips, delicious!

How are you all spending your Sunday?

SIMPLE SATURDAY

After a long week at uni and everything else that's going on, there's nothing I love more than a completely chilled weekend.

For most people my age, the weekend means going out and celebrating with some drinks. Me on the other hand, would much rather stay at home and spend time with family or have a chilled out night-in with friends. As winter is approaching and the weather is getting colder each day, there's just something so heavenly about staying in and keeping cosy.

For me, the ideal Saturday night consists of snuggling on the sofa, watching a movie (or some sort of TV show) with a cup of tea and a chocolately treat. Because I spend the rest of the week being very strict with what I eat, Saturday tends to be my treat day or the day I indulge a little more, shall we say.

So with all that being said, here's tonights plan ;-)
A lovely and warming homemade dinner, followed by some XFactor viewing, a cup of tea and some freshly baked chocolate cupcakes. Perfection!

Happy Saturday!

TRICK OR TREAT

Happy Halloween everyone!

Wow, I can't believe we are celebrating Halloween already! Where is this year going?

Nevertheless, I love Hallowern so much! Part of my love for Halloween came from living in America, I think. They really do go above and beyond! From decorations to endless costume possibilities. It's crazy. But in a good way! I can't help but be a little disappointed with the lack of effort people make in the UK. We are lucky if we have even ONE trick or treater at our house! Oh well, more candy for me!😜

Tonight it's just my mum and I so we're having a girls night in. A warming Chilli Con Carne for dinner, followed by some homemade Halloween goodies and some spooky films. Perfect!

What's your plans? Enjoy your night whatever you do!
